Vestibular Testing
This test is used to determine if vestibular or inner ear disease may be causing dizziness or balance problems.
It is more accurate, more consistent and more comfortable to the patient than the previous ENG version of testing. It is one of the only tests available that can determine if there is unilateral (one ear) or bilateral (both ears) vestibular loss.
Infrared goggles are placed around the patient's eyes to record eye movement during testing.
This is a non invasive test. The patient is then asked to follow visual objects with their eyes. The test then documents the patient's ability to follow the objects with their eyes and how well the eyes respond to information from the vestibular system.
